Here are some of the tasks you can perform:

  • View live or saved video from your connected surveillance cameras

  • Switch lights on or off
  • Open or close your garage door
  • Adjust your home comfort settings
  • Talk directly to your monitoring center

You can enhance convenience even more with your Vivint Smart Hub in New Haven by implementing schedules or establishing rules. For instance, you could have your smart thermostat automatically adjust nightly at a specified time. Or, you can add preferences like having your front door unlock when the smoke alarm trips.

Tips for arming and disarming your system

Before you jump into all the amazing things your Vivint Smart Hub can accomplish, you’ll want to know how to arm and disarm your system. It’s easy - just adhere to these instructions:

  • Tap the shield icon on the home screen and swipe to the right for “Away” and left for “Stay.”
  • Stay signifies you will still be present in the home and arms all sensors except interior doors and motion detectors.
  • Away indicates you will be leaving, and everything in the home will engage.
  • To disarm, all you need to do is slide the shield icon down and input your PIN.

You’ll see a message if something is blocking the system from arming. For instance, an open window will cue you to act. Note that you can still arm your home’s security by following the instructions above. You will then have to verify that you would like to circumvent the sensor that isn’t ready.
